Seven Special: Maryam’s Journey to Prayer

My name is Maryam, and as you’ve probably guessed, I am seven years old. Seven is a special age for Muslims—this is when children begin learning to pray regularly, and that includes me!

Learning to pray comes with lots of questions: Where is the right place to pray? Can you really put your foot in a sink without slipping? What should you pray for, and how do you do it the right way? And why do we pray five times a day? These are just some of the things I’m figuring out, and it feels amazing when the answers start to make sense!
